deals with a young widow and how she deals with her life and those around her.Five years after the death of her husband, Charlotte Rosen opens a box that contains the urn and ashes of her late husband who she thought was in a mausoleum in Pala, California Suddenly, all her work at avoiding those who knew of her marriage and rebuilding her life based on mathematical algorithms is in jeopardy The return of Decker s ashes and a secret to be revealed about his past are going to force Charlotte out of her controlled bubble of simple acquaintances, algorithms over emotions and her unresolved grief.Charlotte took me on an unexpected journey There were times Charlotte really annoyed me and yet the author had a way of revealing through another character or discovery, why she was the way she was The whole situation of reading about being a widow at such a young age could feel uncomfortable and did at times, but I feel Ms Belden handled Charlotte s journey with empathy, humor, forgiveness and love The secondary cast of characters in this story all start out on the periphery of Charlotte s emotional life, but Ms Belden does a beautiful job of one by one showing Charlotte why and how they should be let in even when her algorithms disagree.I enjoyed Charlotte s journey and Ms Belden s writing style, but I also know this is going to be one of those books that everyone reads through a differing emotional lens Cuteness alert I loved this funny, snarky little rom com Grab your Firken fake Birken and dive right into the world of Charlotte Rosen This book just made me feel good I smirked many of times while reading this book because this girl was just so funny What s not to like about Charlotte She has got it going on Living in LA she is privy to all the hip things do people up and coming companies to work for She has an adorable dog named Leno yes, after Jay Leno She lives with her crazy, weird roommate Casey that she found on Craigslist EEEEK OH and her in laws hate her because she killed their son Decker That about covers it Meanwhile she is on Tinder, Bumble and whatever else dating site trying to find her perfect match As you guessed it there isto this story I am going to leave that right there so I don t spoil this adorable story for you You would think that this story would be a bummer since Charlotte is a widow searching for love Yet somehow the author has such a knack for shifting gears and turning a serious situation into a hilarious one just as you start to feel like you may turn into an ugly crying mess Charlotte s funny stories such as the time she went to the farmers market We must be filming a pilot for HDTV when surrounded by all the vine ripe tomatoes Or dropping her dead husband under a table, standing in a bathroom stall listening to her coworkers make fun of her fake Birken and she continued to carry it This was fun from page one until the very end Let s just say I needed this Thank you so much to Graydon House Harlequin for this adorable ARC This is inspiriting, joyful, motivational and humorous Yes, this is just what I need and what I want after my long waltzes with thriller genre.I just finished this inspirational, witty women s fiction book I have to emphasize this is not a romcom, even though we have too many funny, awkward situations and coincidences like we get used to see at romcoms but this book is a woman s second chance to find herself and rebuild her life kind of fiction Thankfully we have a creative, intelligent write This is inspiriting, joyful, motivational and humorous Yes, this is just what I need awkward situations and coincidences like we get used to see at romcoms but this book is a woman s second chance to find herself and rebuild her life kind of fiction Thankfully we have a creative, intelligent writer who could really bend the words, form them adroitly and presents us a heart warming story which makes us smile too much that your cheeks could truly hurt after finishing it.I may sense that not everyone could easily love or connect with our heroine Charlotte because she is quirky, withdrawn character with some many laughable, entertaining inner monologues But I love her journey to fight against the walls she s build around herself She starts to dive into dating pool to make some changings in her life But she is also young widow and she doesn t like to share this information with the others She thinks algorithm will help her to make the right choice and help her to find the most convenient guy But when she gets ashes of her deceased husband, she realizes that it was time to face her past and reveal all of her secrets she bottled up because if she doesn t get the closure she needed and forgiveness about things happened long time ago, she cannot have her HEA So this story is about friendship, forgiveness, breaking the barriers, self discovery, hope, joy, embracing the fullness of life I also loved our ideal book boyfriend Brian who is one of the sweetest and kindest guys as a supporting character and I also entertained the differences between Charlotte and Casey Their characters couldn t be so opposite of each other but they also balanced each others lives so perfectly. And of course ending gives you so much aawww and deep sigh moments Overall This is smartly written, riveting, enjoyable book with impeccably developed characters and heart felting story gives me the hope, positive energy and relaxation I needed.Special thanks to NetGalley and HARLEQUIN Graydon House Books for sharing this joyful book s ARC COPY with me in exchange my honest wanting the label Charlotte has made it that no one in her life knows that she was ever even married She has re entered the dating field but treats itlike a math problem than anything else Using an algorithm to find the perfect man BUT everything is turned topsy turvy when she gets a surprise package with her husband s ashes inside Charlotte is now forced to face the past, the truth, and her future What follows is an engaging story filled with memories, tenderness, heartbreak, hope, forgiveness, and closure Charlotte may not have been the most relatable character, but I had a lot of sympathy for her She had lost her husband at such a young age and was still caring around so much grief and guilt Her neurotic tendencies really did not help the situation She had kind of isolated herself from people, avoiding ever being hurt again, and also avoiding ever being loved again I found the secondary characters roommate Casey and love interest Brian muchinteresting than Charlotte if I m being honest Brian was a pretty great guy and I loved all the interactions with him Casey was the perfect counterbalance to Charlotte, and I loved how eventually she basically told her how it is Later in the story there is a secret revealed and I think Charlotte handled it much better than I might have I love watching Charlotte bro and rediscover herself throughout the course of this book Emily Belden has written a clever refreshing story and I m looking forward to the next book from this author. This book in emojis The audiobook was narrated by Piper Goodeve I truly believe this made the storyrelatable to me, she gave Charlotte a human side Charlotte was kind of a dry character, but I think piper s voice made herlively Andrelatable This might be a book I likedbecause I listen to it rather than read it Big thanks to Harlequin and Harper Audio for my copy of this book
